X-Factor was full of drama as usual this weekend, despite Simon cutting back on the sob-story-singers, many wannabe-starlets still managed to grab their 15 minutes.
Katie Waissel, who supossedly has a record contract under the name ‘Lola Fontaine’, cracked out a few wet ones early on whilst singing. Of course Cheryl lapped up the tears and gave the drama queen a pass to the live shows. Let’s see what she brings to the stage after proclaiming she wants to be a star in everything
Of course Cheryl also put through her twin Cher Llyod, even though she also turned on the waterworks and didn’t even manage to sing!! But Cheryl ‘saw something’ in her, and hopefully she can turn her swag on for the live performances.
Shy singer Rebecca Ferguson was the third girl to make the Cheryl-cut. Unlike the other girls her performance was simple but show-stopping and contained no drama. Maybe this year someone will win for their voice alone??
Luckily for all you Jedward-haters out there, this year Simon Cowell was in charge of chopping the groups down to size.
This meant that somewhat annoyingly likeable groups Twem and Diva Fever got no’s.
Instead Simon put through two groups created by the show, 1Direction and Belle Amie.
Both groups wowed Simon with their performances, as despite never having performed together before, they sounded amazing!! He seemed especially impressed with what the girls (Belle Amie) could produce in a week.
The final spot was given to ‘dancers’ FYD, who want to prove they were all-round entertainers. Whilst they’ve definitely got the performance part down, will their voices wow in the live shows?
Unfortunately for Louis he was given the Over 28s to manage.
Mary Bryne has wowed Cheryl at boot-camp, and was on form to persuade Louis to give her a chance despite initially forgetting her words!!
Another wannabee to get through was John Adeleye, who has been searching for the starlight for years. He performed an upbeat version of ‘Billionaire’, proving he could fit into the charts perfectly. But is he ready to sing live?
The final place was given to someone who was ecstatic to have been given a chance. Despite irritating Simon with his catchy name, Storm Lee impressed Louis Will his American Dream of becoming a singer come true here in Blighty?
The final category was the boys who were lucky enough to travel to Australia to perform in front on judge Danni Minogue.
After Simon called him a ‘popstar’ Aiden Grimshaw was delighted to be put through by Danni, whilst his performance was simple it was an amazing rendition.
‘Diva’ Nicolo Festa also made it through to the live finals along with Matt Cardle.
So that’s the final 12…. or will it be 16 with rumours of wild cards joining the live shows!!!
